Notable events

Our monthly events range from technical workshops to community-building discussions, and we partner with knowledgable professionals from across the tech industry to design and host these. While we have a breadth of events, here are some of our community'‘s favorites that you can expect annually.

  • An opportunity to kick off the year together and meet other women of color and gender expansive POC in the field! Participate in a Figma session together, chat, and set expectations for the new year.

  • A portfolio panel with industry experts on what hiring panels look for, followed by intimate reviews.

  • Mock interview practice in an intimate setting with the Guía Collective. Participants learn tips to effectively answer behavioral interview questions, pair up with others to practice, and get feedback from experienced mentors.

  • A talk and panel with experts in the industry on how product has power within the design process to reduce bias as they shape the user experience.

  • Hear from a panel about strategies for Managing Imposter Syndrome as a Woman of Color and/or a Gender-Expansive POC, followed by a FigJam workshop to create our own DIY positive affirmation cards to share.

  • A workshop on all things negotiating, money talk, and getting what you deserve as a woman of color and/or gender-expansive POC!

  • Discussion panel of product designers and researchers on the excitement and challenges of working in social impact, and how to get started.
